Book design & publishing for
nonfiction authors

Maximize your impact, income, and authority by publishing like a pro

Finishing your manuscript is only the first half of publishing.

Do you have a plan for what comes next?

Fair or not, everyone will judge it by the cover.

Missing the mark on book cover and interior design will cost you.

  • loss of book sales

  • reduced impact

  • damaged reputation and perceived credibility because of an amateur-looking book

  • frustration and lost time—dozens of hours trying to DIY

  • missing out on revenue, lead generation, speaking engagements, and other career opportunities

I know how frustrating it can be to pour everything you have into your manuscript, only to learn that…

A stellar manuscript isn’t enough to publish a successful book.

As an expert at what you do, sharing your incredibly valuable knowledge and wisdom should be enough. And certainly it takes enough time and effort to get to that point.

But the truth is that without a great cover and interior layout, your chances of success are drastically reduced.

Readers judge the quality of a book’s content by the quality of its design. Furthermore, the right design is what allows your book to instantly connect with potential readers on a subconscious level, and feel that its right for them.

I’m Rachel—book designer and champion of the entrepreneurial spirit.

I founded Printed Page Studios to help you publish like a pro, so you can:

  • walk away with a beautiful book that maximizes your impact, income, and authority

  • have a tangible legacy to be proud of for a lifetime and beyond

  • experience peace of mind as you are guided through the process by an expert

  • play a collaborative role and be heard as you work one-to-one with your designer—no middleman

  • get an expert, strategy-driven, cover-to-cover book design that sells more books and drives more engagement

  • receive full ownership of your cover design copyright and all of your design files (I bet you didn’t know that most publishers don’t give you this)

The Process

1. Schedule a Call

During the discovery call, I’ll learn all about your book and your publishing goals. We’ll see if we’re a good fit to work together and what services are right for you. I’ll answer any questions you have about next steps.

2. Strategy + Design

Every project starts by discussing your target reader, goals for publishing, and personal vision for the book. We’ll determine your design strategy, and from there I’ll design the front cover. The book interior design and layout come next, followed by finishing the full cover (back cover and spine), and ebook conversion.

3. Refine + Publish

Once your book files are finalized, it’s time to publish! I can take care of uploading files to the printer for publishing, or I can provide you with print-ready files that are ready for upload if you plan to do it yourself.

You want to publish a book that grows your business, career, or mission.

You need book cover design, book interior design & formatting, ebook conversion, and final files set up properly for your printer. The problem is that the publishing process is complex, which makes you feel overwhelmed and confused. You probably have questions about:

  • ISBN numbers

  • what formats you should publish

  • how to find the right designer

  • when to find a designer

  • what the front cover should look like

  • what trim size your book should be

  • how to get the barcode for your back cover

  • keywords and other metadata

  • and so much more.

Book design can make or break a book’s success, and I believe that independent authors should have access to the same high quality services as traditionally published authors. What most authors (and even book designers) don’t know is that an effective cover is about so much more than the right image and a catchy design. A book cover is a marketing tool, and it should be designed to evoke a specific emotion. Color psychology, typography, and other subconscious elements play a huge role in creating a cover that sells.

I understand how overwhelming it can be to figure out next steps and find a designer you trust, which is why I work one-on-one with authors, offering standalone coaching, or coaching along with book design and publishing services. I take you from finished manuscript to published book.
